Fun FAQs
At Funventures Tours, our goal is to have fun, it’s actually in the name! But we take your safety and the safety of those around you very seriously. So with that in mind, below are the rules…no exceptions!
Safety is fun!
- Please read our Covid-19 Safety measures here.
- Funventures Tours and rentals are open to responsible adults 21 years or older only.
- FunVentures Tours kayak and paddleboard rentals are prohibited on any river, at any time and inflatables are prohibited on the D&L Canal. Any fines or equipment damage are the sole responsibility of the renter. Rental equipment damage will be assessed by FunVentures Tours at the time of return.
- Any physical activity is inherently risky. All Funventurers must sign a waiver before participating in any tour or event. No one knows your limitations but you. You are required to be in good health and adequate physical condition to perform at least an hour of moderate physical activity. Breaks will be taken regularly and as needed. You are required to notify your Tour Guide if you are experiencing any physical problems during a tour.
- Ear phones of any type are prohibited.
- Smoking is prohibited (and just dumb!).
- Cell phones are to be muted and remain out of site. You’re out here to have fun, give the darn phone a rest!
- No littering…it’s just so uncool.
- As an adult (see point #1), you are expected to behave in a safe, mature, and respectful manner at all times (as in, what would your mom think?). Funventurers Tour Guides have the exclusive right, AT ANY TIME, to excuse a participant from the tour. If you misbehave, you will be asked to leave, and your fees will NOT be refunded.
- Proper safety equipment will be provided and is required at all times during the tour or rental, that includes helmets (don’t worry, you’ll look awesome), and Personal Flotation Devices PFDs.
- Pedal Tours will take place on public trails, in public parks that are open to the public (get it?). We obey all the standard rules. We stop at stop signs and never cross a road without looking, and pass with care.
- Pedestrians have the right of way…ALWAYS. Funventurers always ride on the right side of the trail, yield to pedestrians and animals. We ride easily and cautiously, giving other people fair warning if we are passing (bike bells will be provided). We never ride more than two bikes wide on a trail, yield to all oncoming bikes and people, and give the rider in front of us at least two bike lengths to stop.
- Please wear appropriate attire. Quick dry shorts and top are recommended for Paddle tours and rentals. Expect to get wet. Your footwear should be waterproof and have a back like a hiking sandal or old pair of sneakers. Flip flops and bare feet are prohibited. Sometimes you have to walk on slippery surfaces or step in the water and you really don’t want to fall! A small, waterproof bag is recommended for your keys, phone, and wallet.
- Appropriate attire for a bike ride includes closed toed shoes, sneakers, or hiking sandals (with a back). Flip flops and fashion sandals are prohibited. If you wear long pants, they must be snug at the ankles to avoid getting caught in the chain. Check the weather and consider bringing an extra shirt or jacket, just in case! Consider a small backpack to carry your belongings.
- Sunscreen, water, and sunglasses are strongly recommended. It can get hot out there. Dehydration and sunburns are NOT fun!
- Steady rain, thunder, lightning, high winds, blizzards, and zombie apocalypses cancel tours. If you have a reservation, you will be notified by email no later than 1 hour prior to the event regarding cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds. Event cancellations will also be posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
